🚀 Connecting Notion for the first time

1. Duplicate the Emovart starter template

If you're starting fresh, duplicate our starter template into your workspace. It already has the shape Emovart looks for: a root page containing your collections, optional sub collections, and article pages inside them.

You don't have to use the template. Any Notion page works as your root, as long as it keeps the root → collection → article hierarchy.

2. Connect Emovart to your Notion

On emovart.studio, open Settings → Help Centers and create a site (or open an existing one). Click Connect Notion — a one-click authorization window appears where you approve access to your workspace.

Then, in Notion, open your root page, click Share, and add the Emovart connection. This is what allows Emovart to read the page and every collection and article inside it.

3. Pick your root page and sync

Back in the console, click Browse my Notion pages and choose your root page — or paste the page link if you have it handy (in Notion: Share → Copy link). Make sure you pick the root page itself, not one of the collections inside it.

Press Resync, and moments later your collections and articles are live at https://<your-slug>.emovart.studio.

🤯 Running into connection issues?

Nine times out of ten, a failed connection comes down to one of two things: the root page isn't shared with the Emovart connection, or a subpage was selected instead of the root. The video below shows the whole flow once more, end to end:

Quick check: open your root page in Notion, click Share, and confirm the Emovart connection appears in the list. If it doesn't, add it and press Resync again.

🔁 Changing the root page of an existing site

Want to point your help center at a different Notion page? Open Settings → Help Centers, select your site, and pick a new root page with Browse my Notion pages. On the next resync, the new page's collections and articles replace the old content.

Keep in mind that article URLs are generated from your page titles, so switching roots (or renaming pages) changes your links — worth knowing if other sites already link to your articles.

🤔 Does my page need to be public ("Share to web")?

No — and that's one of the best parts. Your Notion page does not need to be shared to the web. Emovart reads your content through its private connection, so the workspace itself can stay completely invisible to the outside world.

The one thing that must stay in place is the Emovart connection's access to your root page. If you remove the connection from the Share menu, or move the page somewhere the connection can't see, syncing stops working.

If you had Share to web switched on before, feel free to turn it off. Your help center keeps working exactly as before — visitors only ever see your polished Emovart site, never the raw Notion page.
